Upper School HumanitiesCommunications
Leslie Horn is returning to our Upper School Humanities Team with an expanded focus on literature and composition. She also currently provides social media support and outreach for the Academy. Mrs. Horn earned a Bachelor of Arts in English from Brigham Young University, with a focus on Editing for Publication. Prior to her position at Young Academy, Mrs. Horn worked as a freelance copy editor and blog administrator.
In recent years, Mrs. Horn enjoyed expanding her skill set to include teaching at a local home school academy as Language Arts and Latin faculty lead. She currently serves very actively in her church as part of the Youth Ministry, and has been the leader of a Cub Scout den, as well. In the past, she has helped local charities organize volunteer efforts and enjoys serving in the community. She has been known to dabble in city politics a bit, when persuaded.
In her free time, Mrs. Horn enjoys reading, improving her manners through close study of “Downton Abbey” episodes, attending the symphony, playing the piano, and dreaming up travel plans. As the parents of three inquisitive and analytical children, Mrs. Horn and her husband have developed an affinity for finding family-friendly cultural and educational opportunities here in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. They enjoy spending time together, tending to their suburban farm/menagerie, and filling their home with music and laughter.
