Gayle Brown

Middle School Humanities

After serving as a founding Board Member, Gayle Brown is thrilled to be joining the Firehawk Family this year as faculty with a focus on 6th & 7th Grade Humanities and 4th through 9th Grade STEM. Mrs. Brown has taught in both the public and private school arena for over six years and brings a wealth of experience and passion to the position. Mrs. Brown received her Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry from Sam Houston State University and her Master of Business Administration from The University of Texas at Austin.

Subsequent to a 15-year career with various management positions within the Marketing Department at American Airlines, Mrs. Brown left the business world to raise her now 15-year-old daughter. During these years as full-time mom, Mrs. Brown became involved in all activities that fancied her daughter which included being Director of Music for Pre-K at White’s Chapel United Methodist Church, Sunday school teacher, VBS Music Director, Brownie/Girl Scout Leader and Parent-Teacher Club Special Events Coordinator. All of these things contributed to the tug felt at her heart, leading her to explore a change in careers and ultimately become a teacher.

In her spare time, Mrs. Brown enjoys traveling with her daughter Abby and Doug, her husband of 25 years. During the school year, you can find the Browns in attendance at one of Abby’s athletic events, a volleyball or soccer game or a tennis match, depending on the season. Mrs. Brown is also involved in the National Charity League where she was the class of 2018 grade-level advisor for the past three years and now holds a position on the Executive Board. She is also a member of the Philanthropic Educational Organization which supports young women in education.
