This is Ms. Cotton's first year at E.A. Young Academy Teaching Applied Design and Engineering, Visual Arts and Makerlab. Although relatively new to the teaching profession, her enthusiasm, fresh perspective, and innovative teaching approach are making a significant impact in the classroom. At the heart of Ms. Cotton's teaching philosophy is a profound belief in the boundless potential of creativity. She understands that creativity knows no bounds, and every student possesses a unique creative spark waiting to be ignited. In their classroom, students are encouraged to explore, experiment, and discover their own artistic and creative identities. Ms. Cotton has an unwavering commitment to igniting creativity, shaping artists, innovators, and thinkers of tomorrow.

Ms. Cotton Graduated from the University of North Texas with a degree in Sculpture and Psychology with minors in Art History in addition to Rehabilitation. She has spent the past three years tutoring college students and teaching sewing classes to adults. Her sculptures are often large and focus on different types of relationships. Ms. Cotton lives in Denton with her husband Jack and two cats Detective Olive Garden Signature Soup Salad and Breadsticks and Dr. Grandpa Buttons Esq. (Soup and Grandpa for short.) Ms. Cotton loves reading, trying new food, playing board games, and spending time with family and friends.
