Cathy Schlebach serves as Advisor to grades 1 and 2, and she is absolutely thrilled to be a part of the E. A. Young Academy family!

Cathy Schlebach's dedication to education spans nearly three decades, with 29 years of experience as a public school teacher. Her versatile teaching skills have led her to classrooms spanning Grades 1 through 7, but she has predominantly found her calling in Grades 1 through 3. For the latter part of her career, she devoted 16 years to Independence Elementary School within the Keller Independent School District.

Her commitment to education is reflected in her extensive qualifications. Mrs. Schlebach received her Texas Teacher Certification in 1992 and holds specific certifications in Elementary Self-Contained (Grades 1 - 8), Gifted and Talented (Grades 1 - 8), Elementary Mathematics (Grades 1 - 8), and English as a Second Language (Grades 1 - 8). Her certifications demonstrate a diverse skill set that has undoubtedly impacted the students she has taught over the years.

Born and raised in Bryan, Texas, Cathy Schlebach grew up as one of seven children, instilling in her a sense of community and togetherness. Her parents both worked at Texas A&M University, laying the foundation for her educational path. In 1992, she graduated from Texas A&M with a Bachelor of Science degree in Interdisciplinary Studies, marking the beginning of her teaching career.

Mrs. Schlebach’s family is a source of pride and joy. She lives in the Keller/North Fort Worth area with her husband, Michael. Together they've raised four wonderful children - Robyn, Emma, Sam, and Noah.

Beyond her professional endeavors, Mrs. Schlebach finds joy in various hobbies and pursuits. In her spare time, she can be found tending to her garden, cooking in the kitchen, exercising with friends at the gym, and sharing memorable moments with her family and friends through board and card games.
